Luthier Chris Bas<\/em><\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

Basone Guitars is no longer in operation following the passing of its founder and luthier, Christopher Basaraba, in 2023.<\/em><\/p>\n

Basone Guitars was established in 2004 in Gastown, although luthier Chris Basaraba had been working in the guitar manufacturing business since the mid-1990s.<\/p>\n

Chris offered a wide range of services to improve guitars - including setups, fret dressing, crack repairs, refinishing, and more. Having built instruments from scratch, he understood them inside and out.<\/p>\n

Basone custom guitars were crafted using only high-quality, handpicked tonewoods such as figured Big Leaf Maple, Honduran Mahogany, and Brazilian Rosewood. Each electric guitar featured a neck width, scale, and radius tailored to its specific model - offering options you couldn\u2019t find off the shelf. Design, function, balance, and tonal character all came together in these remarkable instruments. The craftsmanship was especially evident in Basone's Custom Instruments.<\/p>\n

The careful selection of tonewoods, combined with premium electronics and hardware, gave Basone guitars a sound, feel, and look that stood out from the rest.<\/p>\n

Basone also hosted Guitar Maintenance Workshops and provided services for the film industry, including prop guitars for stunts and custom replicas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
